Umm Ul-Khair (“The Mother of Goodness”) was the mother of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq. Her name was Salma, and according to some sources: “Laila” Bint Sakhar Bin ‘Amr Bin Ka’ab Bin Sa’ad Bin Taym Bin Murrah Bin Ka’ab Bin Lu’ay Bin Ghalib. Umm Ul-Khair was from the tribe of Taym, a sub-clan of the tribe of Quraysh, and she embraced Islam at the start of the Call to Islam along with her son, Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with them both.

Sayyida Aisha, the Mother of the Believers, was the daughter of our Honorable Master, Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with her and her father. Ten years younger than her half-sister Asma’, who shared the same father, Aisha was a beloved wife to Habibullah (the Beloved of Allah) – the Prophet, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him and his family – as well as “the Mother of the Believers,” whose innocence was revealed from above the seven heavens.

In an event unprecedented in the long history of Arabs and Muslims, an international assembly for the descendants of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) has been formed, uniting participants from across the Islamic world—from Pakistan and India in the East to Mauritania in the West.
