A Historical First: International Assembly for the Progeny of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq Formed

In an event unprecedented in the long history of Arabs and Muslims, an international assembly for the descendants of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) has been formed, uniting participants from across the Islamic world—from Pakistan and India in the East to Mauritania in the West.

The move comes in response to widespread demand amongst the descendants, reflecting their great interest and desire to unify all descendants of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq around a rich historical heritage mirrored in their noble ancestors of Bakri lineage. The assembly is intended to create a unique sense of solidarity and kinship in the homelands of descendants so that their lineage may be preserved and safeguarded.

His Eminence the Sheikh of the Siddiqi Sijjada Bakria, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohamed Kublai Al-Bakri, a descendant of the As-Siddiq family, has graciously issued a decree to form an international committee of trustees of Bakri lineage from various countries that gathers under its umbrella an elite set of participants, including dignitaries, the heads of Bakri tribes, and Honorable Judges of Shariah Law, as well as university presidents, scholars, and researchers of Bakri lineage.

The committee includes members from a vast stretch of the Islamic world, which can be summarized as follows:

1. The Arabian Peninsula Region: Headed by Dr. Emad Muhammad Abdul-Aziz Al-Ateeqi Al-Bakri – Kuwait, President of the American University of The Middle East in Kuwait, Researcher and Genealogist, Trustee of Bakri Lineage in Saudi Arabia and Yemen

2. The Levant Region: Headed by Sheikh Hatem Muhammad Helmi Al-Bakri As-Siddiqi – Palestine, Khateeb at the Sanctuary of Abraham in Hebron, Shariah Judge, Trustee of Bakri Lineage in Syria

3. The Country of Sudan: Headed by Al-Sheikh Taha Ali Al-Muhl Al-Zarnakhi Al-Bakri – Sudan, Head of the Honorable Bakri Tribe in Sudan, Trustee of Bakri Lineage in Sudan

4. The Horn of Africa Region: Headed by Professor Najeeb Sheikh Abdul-Karim Al-Sheekhali Al-Bakri – Somalia, President and Founder of Hope University in Somalia, Trustee of Bakri Lineage in Somalia and Ethiopia

·         The bylaws of the Sheikhdom of Sijjada Bakria;

·         Decree No. 1 and Decree No. 2 for the year 2016 AD at the General Secretariat;

·         The memorandum of the General Secretariat on 12/31/2016 AD;

·         The authorities vested in us and the merits of the work;

It has been decreed:

First Article: A Committee of Trustees of Siddiqi-Bakri Lineage shall be formed in the Islamic world, as follows:

Second Article: The role and mission of the Trustee Committee shall be to accept the research and lineage investigation applications submitted by the Honorable Bakris, to put forth recommendations regarding them to the Lineage Investigation Committee at the Sheikhdom, each one according to the relevant geographic zone, as well as to strengthen the ties of kinship and brotherhood amongst those of Bakri lineage.

Third Article: This decree is immediately effective.
