Ahmed Shihab Al-Din Ibn Abdul-Warith

Ahmed Shihab Al-Din Ibn Abdul-Warith (1): Ahmed Bin Abdul-Warith Al-Bakri was a Shafi’i jurist known as Shihab Al-Din. He was the father of Sheikh Nur Al-Din, who oversaw the institution of hisbah (regulating the marketplace). A scholar of jurisprudence, usul (the fundamentals of religion), and the Arabic language, Shihab Al-Din was also known as an objective researcher and was the head teacher of Atfih Madrasah. He retreated from the public eye near the end of his life and died on the 27th of Ramadan in 774 AH.

Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani stated:

I saw in Ibn Al-Qattan’s own handwriting—and he also told me formally—that he heard Sheikh Yahya Al-Jazouli Al-Maliki saying that he heard Sheikh Shihab Al-Din Bin Abdul-Warith Al-Bakri saying: “There was a little misunderstanding between me and Sheikh Naser Al-Din; after that, I saw the Prophet, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, in a dream, and he told me: ‘Reconcile with Muhammad Al-Bakri,’ so I traveled over land to reconcile with him.” From me: It has been established that they both died in the same month. –End of Citation

In response, I would add: The Naser Al-Din Al-Bakri mentioned here is Sheikh Naser Al-Din Ibn Qabila Al-Dahruti.
