Salamullah Ibn Matbar

Salamullah Ibn Matbar (1): Salamullah Bin Ali Bin Matbar Bin Umar Bin Abi Taher Mutahar Al-Redha Bin Al-Ghayyath Bin Al-Redha of Kubanan (2) was a descendant of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq whose ancestry could be traced to Bam, where he was born in Sha’ban of 813 AH. He lived in Kerman and Isfahan and followed the Shafi’i school of thought. He received knowledge from Abi Sa’id Bin Al-Jalal Al-Kazeruni, the muhaddith (transmitter of hadiths); Ahmed Al-Bawardi; Al-Afif Al-Iji; Abi Al-Fath Al-Muraghi; and others.

Salamullah Ibn Matbar was a scholar of the Qur’an and Noble Hadith known for his piety and wisdom. He often lived in Makkah. Mahmud Al-Amshati learned medicine from him. Abdul-Muhsin Al-Sharwani received knowledge from him as well. Salamullah died in either 886 or 887 AH.
