Sa’id Bin Ali Al-Takdhashti

Sa’id Bin Ali Al-Tagdachti (1): Sa’id Bin Ali Al-Tagdachti was from the Tagdachti/Wahdawi/Bakri family in Northwest Africa. He was a jurist, scholar, and marabout (religious leader and teacher) revered for his great knowledge and piety. Among the righteous men of Tagdacht whom people visited and sought blessings from during the ninth century after the Hijrah, he was succeeded by pious children and grandchildren who established zawiyas in Tourbhine in Ichkajne, in Taourirt at the top of Djebel El-‘Assel in Ida Ou Ziki, and in the zawiya of Sidi Al-Hasan Bin Mahmad in Indmsirn.

Sa’id Bin Ali Al-Tagdachti lived in Iswal in the middle of the ninth century after the Hijrah. He worked as a children’s teacher and also served as imam in local mosques.
