Muhammad Bin Awadh Al-Dahruti

 

Muhammad Bin Awadh Al-Dahruti (1): The Maliki scholar and muhaddith (transmitter of hadiths), Muhammad Bin Awadh Bin Abdul-Khaleq Bin Abdul-Munim Bin Yahya Bin Al-Hasan Bin Musa Bin Yahya Bin Ya’qub Bin Najm Bin Esa Bin Sha’ban Bin Esa Bin Dawud Bin Muhammad Bin Nuh Bin Talha Bin Abdullah Bin Abdel-Rahman Bin Abi Bakr Al-Siddiq, was from the tribe of Taym, a sub-clan of the tribe of Quraysh, and a descendant of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq known as Naser Al-Din Al-Dahruti. He is believed to have been born in 664 AH. He was granted ijazas by Al-Izz Al-Harrani and others. He received knowledge of jurisprudence and became a master of usul (the fundamentals of religion) under the tutelage of Al-Qarafi. It was reported that the judiciary of Egypt wanted to appoint him as a judge, but he declined. He died in Dahrut in Jumada Al-Thani of 733 AH.
