Sheikh Sa’eed Alamoudi
Sheikh Sa’eed Alamoudi (1): Sheikh Abu Esa Sa’eed Bin Esa Alamoudi of Hadhramaut was from the tribe of Quraysh and a descendant of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq. He was born in the village of Qaydun in Hadhramaut sometime between 550 and 560 AH. He died in 670 AH and was buried in Qaydun. He was described by Muhi Al-Din Al-Aydarus as: Sheikh Sa’eed Bin Esa Alamoudi (may Allah bless his soul), the prominent sheikh with tremendous knowledge, the crown of scholars, and the teacher of the disciples.
Sheikh Sa’eed Alamoudi was extremely generous, kind-hearted, and hospitable. He would distribute wealth to those who were deserving of it, feeding the poor and needy, hosting guests, and spending money like someone with no fear whatsoever of poverty. He was a highly knowledgeable Sufi scholar and one of the most well-known sheikhs of Hadhramaut.
Sheikh Sa’eed Alamoudi grew up under the care of his father, Sheikh Esa Bin Ahmed, whose tomb is also located in Qaydun. He has numerous righteous descendants and followers in Hadhramaut known as the family of Aba Esa. Writing the kunya in this manner (Aba instead of Abu) is done according to the traditions of the people of Hadhramaut, who use the “a” as a form of abbreviation. The family maintains a number of famous zawayas there.
The immediate descendants of Sheikh Alamoudi were his sons Muhammad, Ali, and Esa. Esa Bin Sheikh Sa’eed Alamoudi did not have any descendants of his own. The origins of the Alamoudi tribe in Hadhramaut can be traced back to Muhammad and Ali, the children of Shiekh Sa’eed Alamoudi.
