Muhammad Bin Hasan Al-Taymi

Muhammad Bin Hasan Al-Taymi (1): Muhammad Bin Hasan Bin Ali Al-Taymi Al-Farisi was born in Aden, Yemen and grew up there in the best of environments. He received knowledge of jurisprudence, logic, and the fundamentals of the religion from Al-Bailaqani. He learned Arabic from Al-Saghani, and medicine, logic, music, and astronomy from Al-Sharif Abi Al-Fadhl. He was proficient in every one of these fields and authored many works on them, including: Darat Al-Tarab (about music), a treatise on music, a book about composing musical tunes, Kitab Al-Tabsira fi ‘Ilm Al-Baytara, Ayat Al-Afaq fi Khawas Al-Awfaq, and a book on poisons. He died in 676 AH.
