Emad Al-Din Abu Ja’far Al-Suhrawardi

Emad Al-Din Abu Ja’far Al-Suhrawardi (1): Emad Al-Din Abu Ja’far Muhammad Bin Shahab Al-Din Umar Bin Abdullah Bin Amuwiah Al-Bakri Al-Suhrawardi was a resident of Baghdad and a Master Sheikh.

Sheikh Emad Al-Din grew up in a progressive home in which knowledge and Tasawwuf were given great importance. In his book of history, Taj Al-Din Abu Talib said: In the year 618 AH, Sheikh Radhi Al-Din Esa Bin Abdullah Bin Abi Esa Al-Shahrbani was dismissed from the Sheikhdom of Ribat Umm Al-Nasr, whereupon Sheikh Emad Al-Din Abi Ja’far was put in charge. Then when his father, Shahab Al-Din, died in Muharram of 632 AH, Emad Al-Din became Sheikh of the Sufis of Ribat Al-Ma’mounia in place of his father. He was dispatched as a messenger to the Romans in 648 AH and appointed supervisor of Al-‘Adudi Hospital, a position he resigned from in 650 AH.
