Amin Al-Din Al-Bakri

Amin Al-Din Al-Bakri (1): Ibrahim Bin Abi Bakr Bin Ibrahim Ahmed Bin Humaid (or “Humaid Bin Ahmed,” according to some sources) Abu Ishaq of Cairo was also known as Amin Al-Din. He was a descendant of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, whose ancestors were from Tbilisi. He was born in Cairo in Muharram of 625 AH.

Amin Al-Din received hadiths from Abi Al-Qasim, a matrilineal descendant of Al-Salafi. He was a noble imam and scholar who led the sultans in prayer during the reign of Thahir Baibars and his son Al-Sa’id. He was a deputy to the muhtasib (inspector) of the military encampments and also led the people in prayer in the Mausoleum of Imam Shafi’i in Qarafa. He died in Sha’ban of 680 AH.
