Muhammad Kublai Al-Bakri, Sheikh of Sijjada Bakria
Muhammad Kublai (1): Sheikh Muhammad Kublai Bin Ahmed Urkhan Al-Bakri was a descendant of the family of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, Grand Sheikh of the Bakria Order, Sheikh of the Sijjada Bakria, and a descendant of the honorable Bakri family, as the mother of his father, Ahmed Urkhan, was As-Sayyida Zakiyyah, the daughter of As-Sayyid Abdul-Baqi Bin As-Sayyid Ali Efendi Al-Bakri. As-Sayyid Abdul-Baqi was the head of the El Sadah El Ashraf Syndicate, Grand Sheikh of All Sufi Orders, Sheikh of the Sijjada Bakria, and brother to Al-Sayyid Muhammad Tawfiq Al-Bakri – and the biographies of both men can be found on this website.
Sheikh Muhammad Kublai was also of the descendants of Sultan Abdul Hamid II of the Ottoman Dynasty on his maternal grandmother’s side. His mother was Princess Adile Hanim Sultan, the daughter of Naime Hanim Sultan, the daughter of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, while his grandmother, Naime Hanim Sultan, was married to Ghazi Osman Pasha, a prominent leader in the Ottoman army who was granted the title Ghazi (Warrior) after defeating the Russians in a wartime battle.
Originally an engineer, Sheikh Muhammad Kublai was a businessman, as he used to work in commerce in addition to his occupation as Sheikh of Sijjada Bakria. He passed away in Cairo in 1425 AH / 2005 AD and was succeeded by his son, Mr. Ahmed Bin Muhammad Kublai, as leader of the Sijjada Bakria.
