Ibrahim Bin Muhammad Al-Taymi

Ibrahim Bin Muhammad Al-Taymi (1): The poet Ibrahim Bin Muhammad Bin Abdullah Bin Uthman was from the tribe of Taym, a sub-clan of the tribe of Quraysh, and a descendant of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq. He wrote poetry such as the following:

Let the generous remain generous—and the stingy remain stingy,

And do not ask people for favors—rather, ask Allah for His favor.

If Allah wills for something to happen—success will flow towards you;

Rugged or smooth—fate is not in people’s hands.

With every hardship comes ease, so do not despair—(the blessing of) rain will follow in its place.

He who is content will have abundance—and unsaddle his horse (to rest and enjoy what he has).
