Mu’nisa Khatun

Mu’nisa Khatun (1): Mu’nisa Khatun (also called Fatima), daughter of Muhammad, known as Ibn Sukar Bin Ali Bin Muhammad Bin Ali Bin Dhargham Bin Ali Bin Abdel-Kafi Bin Esa Bin Al-Hasan Bin Muhammad Bin Hubaira Bin Al-Hasan Bin Yusuf Bin Anas Bin Abdullah Bin Saeed Bin Ahmed Bin Lahiq Bin Saleh Bin Ibrahim Bin Muhammad Bin Talha Bin Abdel-Rahman Bin Abi Bakr Al-Siddiq.

Mu’nisa Khatun was also known as Umm Muhammad, daughter of the Hanafi muhaddith (transmitter of hadith) and musannid (one who ascribes hadiths) with many narrations, Shams Al-Din Abi Abdullah of Makkah, who was from the tribe of Quraysh and a descendant of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq known as either Ibn Sukar or Ibn Shukr.

 Mu’nisa was born in Makkah in 779 AH and grew up there. She received numerous hadiths from her father, Al-Nashawri, and Ibn Siddiq, while Al-Burhan Al-Qirati, Al-Hafith Al-Zayn Bin Rajab, Abu Hurairah Bin Al-Thahabi, Abu Al-Khair Bin Al-‘Ala’i, and others gave her ijazas.

A generous and righteous woman, Mu’nisa also narrated and gave an ijaza to Al-Sakhawi. She died mid-morning on Friday, the 17th of Rabi’ Al-Awwal (851 AH) in Makkah. Her body was prayed over after Friday prayers and then buried in her father’s grave in Al-Mu’alla.
