Maymuna Bint Abdel-Rahman

Maymuna Bint Abdel-Rahman (1): Maymuna Bint Abdel-Rahman Bin Abdullah Bin Abdel-Rahman bin Abi Bakr Al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) was the mother of: Abdul-Malik and Ateeq (Atiq), the sons of Abdul-Aziz Bin Al-Walid Bin Abdul-Malik Bin Marwan Bin Al-Hakam Bin Abi Al-Aas Bin Umayah of the Umayyad Dynasty, of the tribe of Quraysh.

Abdul-Aziz Bin Al-Walid married Maymuna Bint Abdel-Rahman while he was still married to his other wife, Umm Hakim Bint Yahya Bin Al-Hakam Bin Abi Al-Aas Bin Umayah. Favoring Maymuna, with whom he was in love, he ended up divorcing Umm Hakim Bint Yahya Bin Al-Hakam, who then married Hisham Bin Abdul-Malik.

As for Maymuna, when Abdul-Aziz Bin Al-Walid died, she married Muhammad Bin Al-Walid Bin Abdul-Malik, after whom she married Sulaiman Bin Abdul-Malik (although some sources say that she did not marry Sulaiman).

After this, she married Hisham Bin Abdul-Malik, and in this manner, Hisham Bin Abdul-Malik came to be married to both wives of Abdul-Aziz Bin Al-Walid (Umm Hakim and Maymuna) at the same time.

Hisham eventually divorced Maymuna and retained Umm Hakim as his wife, telling Umm Hakim: “I have pleased you by obtaining justice for you from her. I have divorced her and kept you just as Abdul-Aziz divorced you and kept her.”
